Transformation of residential building Loreto Zug, 2006

131 residential building Loreto

After more than 40 years of use, the owner wanted to thermally renovate the building and its 28 apartment units and simultaneously give it a contemporary, attractive appearance. The existing balconies and their limited space of 1.22 metres of depth and their continuous floor panels created a major thermal bridge. They were substituted by new, generous balconies. The entrance area, last remodelled in the 1990s, was made unobstructive during the renovation work. The building also got a harmonious appearance. The new components are not discernable as subsequent additions, but as part of something new that has been created.
